YSI - Aoibheann's Pink Tie

The charity we chose for our  YSI project this year was Aoibheann's Pink Tie.

Aoibheann's Pink Tie is the national children's cancer charity who financially support families with sick kids, help send families away for a weekend and supply over night emergency bags for unplanned hospital visits and that's just a few things they do. We chose this charity as we believe cancer is such a huge thing and everyone has been affected by it in one form or another.

To raise funds we firstly had a bake sale on Tuesday 19th of September. Then we raffled a beauty hamper with 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4th prizes. We also had a prize for the class who bought the most tickets. Tickets were sold in the school and the raffle was held on Monday the 9th of October. Next, we did a bucket collection in New Ross on Thursday 12th of October, which was very successful. We hope to have a movie afternoon with first years next week to end our YSI module. So far we have raised over €1000 which we are delighted with.
